7 May 2014 Barrydale to Sedgefield 288km
Jo introduced us to a beautiful little venue called Koedoes Kloof near Ladismith. The view is spectacular and the owners very hospitable. This also allowed Dave to fit a few km of dirt road into the day, he seems to manage to fit dirt road in every day, and rides that Harley darn well on it as well.
From there we headed to George and Vossie’s Thunder Cycles http://www.thundercycles.co.za/wmenu.php
What a wonderful man and great motorcycle shop. He was not only open just for us on voting day, served us and a whole bunch of other riders some finger snacks, but he and his mechanics also did the required maintenance on Dave’s Harley Davidson 1200 Sportster and did not charge one cent.
Vossie Vosloo is an incredibly supportive real biker. We are very grateful for his help with our Cheshire Home and QASA quest
Next year Vossie suggests that we plan things a little better and use his whole shop for a talk and meet and greet with Dave Barr. Who’s in?
The rest of the day was fairly quiet, which allowed us time to vote and also gave Dave Barr some time with Col Breytenbach and his charming
wife at the Pili Pili Beach Bar in the evening.
Thank you to Louis at Pili Pili Beach Bar for a great supper, lots of flexibility and Afrovibe Backpackers for very convenient, comfortable accommodation right on the beach in Sedgefield.
