Day 9: East London to Ingeli Forrest
After a great night’s rest at The Garden Court in East London we hit Route 72 in the Eastern Cape.
Nothing better than riding along the windy roads of coastal towns of the Eastern Cape.
The Transkei is beautiful but well known as having some of the most dangerous roads in South Africa. We received a lot of attention at gas stations and the kids absolutely loved the Harley Davidsons.
With cattle and sheep walking wildly on the tarred road in the Transkei, it’s no wonder it’s such a hazardous ride.
It was a very special and spiritual ride.
Double-amputee Bushy McKelvey joined Dave and the team just before Kokstad. It is special to have two individuals with three Guinness World Records between them on motorcycles.
Bushy is the holder of the world record for the greatest distance on a motorbike in 24 hours by an individual, covering an incredible 3 257.5km on a motorbike in 24 hours.
We arrived at the beautiful Ingeli Forest Lodge where we ended the evening off with a nightcap.
