Day 12: Salt Rock to Nkwalini
Be calm and get on a micro light. Before we left, four of the Chutzpah Rough Riders woke up for an early micro flight over the beautiful coastline and sugarcane field of Groutville.
We definitely have some of the best coastlines in South Africa.
Surrounded by the sweet smell of sugarcane and the blue ocean we were ready for the day ahead. You can see by the grin on Bill Lebeda’s face that pilot blood runs strong in him.
Thank you David Daniel and his flight school in Groutville ‘Come Fly’ for an absolute treat we will always remember.
Before we knew it we were back on the road travelling through Zululand.
It was a humbling experience driving through the midlands of KwaZulu-Natal where huts speak of life lived simple in the vast beauty of the mountains ranges.
Thank you to Clinton Gray and the riders of the Zululand Outriders for riding with Dave Barr and the Rough Riders through Zululand.
We arrived to a beautiful outdoor festival at the Nkwalini Farmers Club.
Organisers Janet Tocknell & Di Stewart made us feel most welcome, a big heartful thanks!
Airforce Von or better said, braaimaster of the day, fed us some of the best braai we’ve ever tasted! We’re immensely greatful his company around South Africa and of course the sposored Toyota Double Cab, it’s comfortable and best of all STRONG. Truly a Rough Rider of note. Mooi man.
After an eventful day it was off to a very scenic stayover at Mfuli Lodge.
