Post Chutzpah Adventure 2015
Dave Barr and the Rough Riders completed an epic 6500km trip around South Africa, all in aid of disability, but that was not the end..
We were blown away by the incredible turnout at a welcoming party hosted by Gold Rand Harley Davidson in the East of Johannesburg.
Pierre Delport and Gert Le Roux hosted the street party and the vibe was alive. Both of them have been greatly supportive to this year’s Chutzpah Adventure.
Dave gave his inspirational speech to the crowd on a warm autumn’s day.
Young and old wanted a piece of this historical journey.
Next day’s breakfast run started early from “Eat Cafe” at Eldoraine Vilage Mall in Pretoria towards Deneysville. Dave gave a talk at the Motorcycle Museum where we all had a wonderful brunch.
It was a lovely turn-up and Dave got very excited when he saw a Buel Motorcycle, the first on this trip.
After his inspirational speech a young boy came up to give his last R20 towards a wheelchair. Every bit helps, what a beautiful gesture.
On the 4th of May we travelled to the Military Musuem at Zoo Lake to remember Casinga Day together.
Cassinga Day is a national public holiday in Namibia remembering the Battle of Cassinga. The day remembers those, approximately 600, killed in 1978 when the South African Defence Force confronted a SWAPO base at Cassinga in southern Angola.
Dave gave a never before heard speech which truly moved the crowd.
“Look at the real Hero’s, they are here amongst us here today. They are not who society and the media tells us to be.“Dave Barr — 4 May 2015.
